About Wear It Out Manuel

The father and son team of Manuel and Manuel Jr. is collaborating on the men's and women's ready-to-wear lines for Wear It Out Manuel . Manuel brings his 52 years of experience as the master of cowboy couture to a retail collection aimed at dressing people worldwide. Manuel's list of celebrity clients reads like an expansive history of American pop culture: Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, the Rat Pack, James Dean, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, Sonny and Cher, REM... the list goes on and on. Not only did Manuel design the clothes for this dazzling array of performers, he also had a principle role in creating their timeless images.

Lead Designer and President, Manuel Jr., "Manny," will apply the design skills he has learned from his father to the Wear It Out Manuel brand. Born in 1972, Manny was raised in North Hollywood and the Taluca Lake area. He started sewing at the age of 6 with Manuel's employees watching over him to take care that he didn't stick his fingers with the needle. By age 7, he was doing it by himself and Manuel's boot maker, Jose Mendes, tutored him in the crafts of leather working, tooling and boot stitching, and cutouts. Manny's dad also instructed him on the art of hat blocking. Every day after school, Manny would come to his dad's shop and after finishing his chores he would work on his own creations ñ leather wallets, purses and other accessories. These were sold in Manuel's shop and the sales money became Manny's allowance. Manuel's work ethic and business philosophy influenced Manny as a young man who was learning the design trade and is a pillar to Manny's business ethics today. Over the past three years, Manny has learned valuable lessons in the business of fashion, not only understanding the work flow and processes to the creation of a clothing line for each season, but the whole sphere of running a business. It has been Manny's dream to take the Manuel brand to the next level. The past three years have become a launch to Manny's vision and Wear It Out Manuel is the continuation of this legendary American brand.

Wear It Out Manuel will continue the Manuel family heritage of setting the standard for American fashion. The Wear It Out brand is all about wearable western couture based on music, the arts, and American confidence and independent style. The Manuel family has influenced and built the images of some of the most celebrated icons of our time in the music industry and on the silver screen.
